A Capital Campaign
Thanks to many generous individuals, companies, foundations and organizations, we have raised 90% of the $7.2 million in our Phase 1 Challenge Goal for the Building Their Future Campaign, and the new Walter J. Howlett, Jr. Clubhouse has been completed.
Named after AGGBGC champion and former Board Chairman Walter J. Howlett, Jr., the new purpose-built facility allows for an average daily attendance of 450 children and youth. It offers a dedicated Teen Center, café with a kitchen and a permanent performance space. Through a partnership with the City of Birmingham, the new clubhouse is located at the Birmingham Crossplex and directly across from the Birmingham Public Library, increasing the club’s visibility and public access.
The ribbon cutting ceremony was held February 19th, 2020, however, we are still about $35,000 shy of our goal. To help contribute to our capital campaign, please contact Kim Brown at 205-923-3377 ext. 106 or kbrown@aggbgc.org.
